Behavior chart-

Green: If a child is making good choices and following our classroom expectations. ~~
Orange: If they do not make good choices they are asked to move their strip to orange and that will remind them to stop and think about making better decisions and the appropriate behavior is stated to them. They may get a head down. This will go away in January and we will only have Green, Yellow, and Red.

Yellow: If the inappropriate behavior continues, they move their strip to yellow. ~Yellow means a “time–out” in the classroom or during our outside time. ~It will last about 5 minutes. ~I will make sure that they know why they are there and what appropriate behavior was expected. ~This is their chance to once again stop and think about making good choices. ~By making good choices they can work their way back to green.

Red: If the inappropriate behavior continues they are asked to move their strip to red. ~They have been given 4 warnings by this time. Red leads to “time away” in another classroom for 10 minutes (they will work while there), an explanation will appear in the agenda, and further appropriate consequences for example 10 minutes of not participating in outside play time and not participating in our free choice centers/Friday enrichment. ~It could also mean an office referral and a phone call to the parent. ~Once again the child is given the chance to work their way back to yellow. ~Any child receiving 3 red marks in their agenda (Overall Behavior) in one week we will need to see the parents for a conference. This will also cause an “N” on the report card.

~Your support and encouragement at home will be of great benefit in helping us have a successful year. ~Self-discipline and guidance will empower your child for the future and give them the confidence to achieve anything.
